Happy Human Project had a busy first summer as an organization! Here's what we were up to:
June 2021: Happy Human Project Shop opened its doors! Our wide variety of inaugural merchandise including bucket hats, stickers, pins and tote bags all had one mission: for all profits to go directly back to community efforts across Canada, including Happy Human Project’s own efforts at Dalhousie University. In addition, following the heartbreaking discovery of 215 children buried at the site of the former Kamloops Residential School, Happy Human Project announced its inaugural donation of $500.00 to Indspire and The Legacy of Hope Foundation, to further support the need for reconciliation and harmony between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. July 2021: Happy Human Project announced it’s newest initiative - Wellness Wednesday! This initiative allows us to take a more proactive stance on the importance of wellness on and off campus. We launched with a wide variety of fun content on our social media. Check it out! August 2021: Following the events in Halifax that forcibly displaced and evicted members of Halifax’s homeless community, Happy Human Project announced a blitz of fundraising through its shop, where 100% of profits would go to Shelter Nova Scotia, in an effort to provide safe spaces for those in need in our community. Thanks the help of our community, we raised $400.00! We also educated our community on the incredible work of additional non-profit organizations to check out. Thank you for an incredible summer! We look forward to getting back to work in September in Halifax!
